Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, whisked
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (170°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with aluminum foil and lightly grease it.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the chopped dark chocolate and butter together until smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together granulated sugar and eggs until well combined. Gradually stir in the cooled chocolate mixture.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. For the pumpkin layer, mix pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, egg, vanilla extract, brown sugar, spices, and cornstarch until smooth.
  6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan evenly. Spread the pumpkin mixture on top followed by dollops of remaining brownie batter; swirl gently with a knife.
  7. Bake for about 50 minutes or until set in the center. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
